Around 15 watts seems a common size, and should work great for this application. JBL or Old Altec drivers work real good. This is the implementation that I am currently using. I am thinking of using an impedance matcher to convert the microphone input to line level output to go back into my pedalboard. It’s not going to hurt anything pushing it with a 15 watt amp. I hope to have some information posted on this project in the future. Any other diy talkboxes here?

It was hard to here the sound out the tube vs the actual speaker. You need to exercise caution with the volume of the sound going into your mouth.
Because is so close to 83, i didnt use a high pass filter. Around 15 watts seems a common size, and should work great for this application. I run the master on maybe 3 or 4 and crank the preamp drive up so its highly driven sounding.
My main concern is the size and power rating of the amp I need to use. I put 4 cuts into the coupler sider so a hose clamp would squeeze it on the throat. It is a funnel attached to the original speaker from the amp. I recommend 6 feet or so of clear non-toxic plastic tube size: When the pedal was unplugged it would pass sound in the bypass mode and block it when turned on with no poer applied.

They do make PVC caps with a five-eighths inch hole in it! Zip Cord is two wire electrical cord tapkbox brown that can be unZIPped by just pulling the two wires apart. I don’t mind overdrive on talkbox, but I want to have enough power to drive it cleanly, and add overdrive after the effect. I’ve used my littel 15W marshall for this, but I’ve also used a smokey ciggarette amp.

Here is the top half duct taped to the bottom half. The ultimate set-up is the all-in-one unit. So i like this setup because if i find talknox cheap 20 or so watt amp it can just convert it over.

The problem djy finding a good driver that hits midrange at a low enough wattage. I should do this, too. I think I’d just follow the shoebox, headphones, and beer-funnel tubing method, hell diyy alot less anguish I fiddled around with some PVC connector parts from a plumbing supply store until I found something that worked. My buddy used to have two of them and those suckers were always going out.
